Unlock Delta Hmi Password Guide
Important Note: This guide is intended for legitimate use only—specifically for recovering access to equipment you own or have explicit permission to maintain. Bypassing security on someone else’s machine without authorization is illegal and violates professional ethics.
Step 1: First—Try the Default Passwords Before attempting any reset, test the factory defaults. Delta HMIs often ship with one of these: | Username (if prompted) | Password | |-----------------------|----------| | (blank) | (blank) | | (blank) | 111111 | | ADMIN | 111111 | | admin | (blank) | Step 2: Check for an Emergency “System Reset” File Delta’s ScreenEditor software allows project designers to enable a recovery option. You’ll need the original .dvp or .dpb project file.
Open Delta ScreenEditor (free from Delta’s website). Go to HMI Settings → System Parameters → Password . Look for “Allow password recovery” .
If checked, you can create a recovery.dbr file using the project. Copy that file to a USB drive, insert into the HMI, and reboot. The HMI will clear the password. unlock delta hmi password
Step 3: Use the Hidden “Factory Reset” via Dip Switch or Boot Menu This method wipes the entire application (including the password) but keeps the firmware. For DOP-B series (older models):
Power off the HMI. Locate the DIP switch (often SW1) inside the back cover. Flip SW1-1 to ON . Power on → the HMI boots into “loader mode”. Wait 10 seconds → Power off → Flip the switch back to OFF. Result: The user program and password are erased.
For DOP-100 series (current models):
Power off the HMI. Press and hold the touchscreen (anywhere) while powering on. Keep holding until the “System Menu” appears. Choose: System Settings → Reset to Factory Defaults → Delete All User Data . Confirm.
After this, you must reload a valid project file from your backup. Step 4: Upload the Project (If Not Password-Locked for Upload) Some Delta HMIs have separate passwords for “Operation” vs. “Upload/Download”.
Connect a USB cable or Ethernet (depending on model). In ScreenEditor, go to HMI → Upload . If the upload password is different from the run password, you might be able to retrieve the project without knowing the run password. Once uploaded, open the project in ScreenEditor and disable or view the password under System Parameters . Important Note: This guide is intended for legitimate
Step 5: Last Resort – Contact Delta Technical Support (With Proof of Ownership) If none of the above work, Delta can sometimes generate a master reset file. You will need:
HMI model number (e.g., DOP-107BV) Serial number Proof of purchase or a letter from your company on letterhead verifying ownership
